Abstract: Individuals with dementia require person-centered care. Healthcare education aims to prepare future professionals to implement this practice. Simulation-based training, as a component of experiential learning theory, promotes realistic learning opportunities revealing increased knowledge, comfort, and confidence for students. This study examined graduate students' perceptions and application of a dementia simulation on their likely use of person-centered care in future clinical practice. Findings revealed an increased understanding of dementia and an intent to provide holistic, interprofessional care. Future research may involve the transfer of simulation-based learning to clinical practice in the implementation of person-centered care.
