Abstract: This study explores the integration of Dong ethnic art and cultural characteristics in modern ceramic design education, aiming to promote the development of Dong ethnic art and culture through educational inheritance. The article first analyzes the current development status and challenges of modern ceramic design education, and summarizes the connotation of Dong ethnic art and culture and its application in design. Furthermore, the integration of Dong ethnic art and cultural characteristics in ceramic design education is discussed from the aspects of theoretical basis, practical value, and specific application. The problems and solutions in the integration are also pointed out. The article analyzes ceramic design education cases that integrate Dong ethnic art and cultural characteristics at home and abroad, revealing the enlightenment brought by integration. It also puts forward suggestions for modern ceramic design education and the inheritance and development of Dong ethnic art and cultural characteristics. The study looks forward to the integration trend of Dong ethnic art and cultural characteristics in modern ceramic design education, and points out that interdisciplinary integration is very important in design education, which brings new perspectives and methods to ceramic design education.
