| Abstract: | This cross-sectional study explores Chinese college students' perceptions of ChatGPT in higher education, focusing on their attention, interest, and attitude. Students (N = 476) were surveyed from 67 universities and colleges in 17 provinces and municipalities in China. Students were generally positive about the use of ChatGPT. They recognized ChatGPT's potential for innovative thinking, personalized learning, and writing analysis. However, concerns were expressed about the accuracy of the content provided by ChatGPT, ethical risks associated with using ChatGPT, and its potential effects on career development. The insights from this study can inform educators and policymakers as ensuring the appropriate application of AI in higher education. |
