Abstract: This study explores the integration of H5P (HTML5), an open-source content creation platform, in a teacher preparation program at a medium-sized public university in the south of the USA. Conducted over five semesters, the research involved 94 undergraduate students (pre-service teachers). The study aimed to evaluate the pedagogical effectiveness of H5P as an online and face-to-face tool compared to other digital tools as perceived by the participant pre-service and in-service teachers, the perceived effectiveness of various H5P content types, the likelihood of future use by participants, and the perceived advantages and disadvantages of H5P in school education. The results of the study were analyzed using the Technology Acceptance Model. Through the lens of the Technology Acceptance Model, H5P shows strong potential for adoption due to its versatility, engagement, and accessibility. However, challenges such as time demands, internet dependence, and technological issues can hinder perceived ease of use and usefulness. Further research is suggested with the inclusion of in-service teachers.
