Abstract: Adult education and learning in Germany are under pressure from attempts by right-wing extremist actors to increase their influence on structures, target groups, and programmes. This paper presents qualitative data from a survey of actors in different adult education and learning areas. They report on various incidents of right-wing influence. These attempts at influence vary in terms of the actors involved, the setting, and the intensity. The reports also show that the institutions involved, and their representatives, react in different ways. These reactions and countermeasures range from attempts to counter influence through dialogue (talking to the right) to clear disciplinary boundaries (firewalls). In this article we present results relating to the micro level of adult education (courses, seminars, lectures).
