| Abstract: | This chapter explores the role of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing ICT (Information and Communication Technology) education in Mauritius. Through a comparative analysis of international frameworks and the UNESCO report, the study aims to identify best practices, challenges, and recommendations for integrating Generative AI into the educational landscape of Mauritius. The paper provides an overview of the significance of ICT education in Mauritius, the concept of Generative AI and its potential applications in education, and a critical examination of international frameworks and the UNESCO report on AI integration in education. The study evaluates the alignment between the recommendations from these sources and the potential application of Generative AI in enhancing ICT education in Mauritius. Additionally, it discusses the ethical considerations associated with the integration of Generative AI and proposes a framework for effectively incorporating it into ICT education in Mauritius. The chapter concludes by summarizing the key findings and suggesting avenues for future research and implementation. |
