| Abstract: | Using the Teacher Behavior Checklist (TBC), international higher education researchers have identified five universal principles of excellent teaching: (1) teacher knowledge, (2) enthusiasm, (3) creativity and interestingness, (4) approachability and personability, and (5) effective communication. In this article, we describe each of these behaviors and offer suggestions for improving teaching by developing and refining each of these principles. |
