Abstract: Group counseling has been used to assist individuals to overcome difficulties associated with problem gambling behavior; however, there are few reports of this application in the clinical and research literature. This paper provides a brief review of group counseling, and describes the application of group counseling to assist individuals with gambling problems. Both self-help and counselor-led groups are discussed. (Contains 77 references.) (GCP)
