Abstract (English): A literature search was conducted on MEDLINE, to identify articles, published between January 2006 and December 2011, about urinary incontinence. Search terms were: "stress urinary incontinence", "TVT" and "urge incontinence", resulting in a total of 2.454 individual papers. Exclusion criteria were: reports in a non-English language, children or men and letters and reviews. After application of exclusion criteria 292 papers were found to be relevant and full text revised to see which questionnaires were used in each of them. We collected data about impact factor, year and origin of publication and type of study. We analyze the use of quality of life, symptoms, sexual function and global indexes questionnaires and the most frequent used in every category. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): Presentamos una revisión de la literatura con el fin de valorar el uso de cuestionarios validados para la patología del suelo pélvico en los artículos publicados entre enero de 2006 y diciembre de 2011 acerca de la incontinencia urinaria. Los términos buscados fueron: «stress urinary incontinence », «TVT» y «urge incontinence», y se obtuvo un total de 2.454 artículos. Los criterios de exclusión fueron: idioma no inglés, publicaciones acerca de hombres o niños, y revisiones o cartas de opinión. Tras la aplicación de los criterios de exclusión, se obtuvieron 292 artículos para ser revisados en su totalidad con el fin de valorar qué cuestionarios se utilizaron en cada uno de ellos. Se recogieron datos acerca del factor de impacto, el año y origen de la publicación, y el tipo de estudio publicado. Analizamos el uso de cuestionarios de calidad de vida, síntomas, función sexual e índices globales, así como los más utilizados en cada una de las categorías. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
