Abstract (English): Since 2013, five editions of the University Physics Olympics have taken held in Cuba, with participation of Latin American students in the last two. In this paper we review the different topics approached by the problems proposed in the Olympics, as well as the performance of the competitors, for each Olympiad and academic year. The topics were divided into three types: traditional problems, problems related to current science, and unusual problems. The results allow making a comparison of the performance of the students depending on the type of problems and academic year. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
