| Abstract (English): | Purpose: To carry out a reflection on the oral health policies of oral health in the Argentine Republic. Methods: Oral health policies, their pertinence and relevance in the context of the national health system, current legislation, and epidemiological background in Argentina are analyzed. Special mention is made to the characteristics of dentistry in a federal country and its particular social, geographical, economic and institutional conditions. Conclusion: Recommendations and lines of action are proposed with the premise of constituting oral health as a State policy. It is concluded that it is a priority to achieve joint participation of all political, social, economic, academic and health service providers to optimize oral health care for all its inhabitants, with an emphasis on the most vulnerable. | Abstract (Spanish): | Objetivo: Realizar una reflexión sobre las políticas de salud bucal de la salud Bucal en la República Argentina. Métodos: Se analizan las políticas de salud bucal, su pertinencia y relevancia en el marco de contexto nacional del sistema de salud, la legislación vigente y los antecedentes epidemiológicos. Se hace especial referencia a las características de la odontología en un país federal y sus condicionantes sociales, geográficos, económicos e institucionales particulares. Conclusión: Se proponen recomendaciones y líneas de acción con la premisa de constituir a la salud bucal como política de Estado. Se concluye que es prioritario lograr la participación mancomunada de todos los actores políticos, sociales, económicos, académicos y de prestación de servicios de salud para optimizar la salud bucal de todos sus habitantes, con énfasis en los más vulnerables. Métodos: Políticas de saúde bucal, sua pertinência e relevância no contexto do sistema nacional de saúde, legislação vigente e antecedentes epidemiológicos na Argentina são analisados. Menção especial é feita para as características da odontologia em um país federal e suas condições sociais, geográficas, econômicas e institucionais particulares. Conclusão: Recomendações e linhas de ação são propostas com a premissa de constituir saúde bucal como política de Estado. Concluise que é prioritário conseguir a participação conjunta de todos os provedores de serviços políticos, sociais, econômicos, acadêmicos e de saúde para otimizar a atenção à saúde bucal para todos os seus habitantes, com ênfase nos mais vulneráveis.
