| Abstract (English): |
BACKGROUND: Burn injuries can cause hypertrophic scars sequelae, these are produced mainly by fibrosing inflammatory processes that are characterized by an increase in the production of glycosaminoglycans and collagen, the enzyme collagenase acts as a degrader causing the decrease of overproduction of this protein that produce loss of volume in the scars. CLINICAL CASE: A 51-year-old female patient with hypertrophic scars produced by burn with a successful response to recombinant collagenase type enzyme. CONCLUSIONS: Treatment with collagenase type recombinant enzyme showed visible results with little sessions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

ANTECEDENTES: Las lesiones por quemadura pueden provocar cicatrices hipertóficas, éstas son producidas principalmente por procesos inflamatorios fibrosantes que se caracterizan por el incremento de la producción de glicosaminoglicanos y colágeno. La enzima colagenasa actúa como degradador provocando disminución en la sobreproducción de esta proteína, lo que conlleva a la pérdida de volumen en las cicatrices. CASO CLÍNICO: Paciente femenina de 51 años con cicatrices hipertróficas producidas por quemadura con respuesta exitosa a enzima recombinante tipo colagenasa. CONCLUSIONES: El tratamiento con enzima recombinante tipo colagenasa demostró resultados visibles con pocas sesiones. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
