Abstract (English): The identification of the problem that graduates of the Biochemistry degree and other graduates of related degrees have faced when carrying out tasks as biochemists in teaching, research, production or service centers, required an investigation that would allow knowing if the plans of studies were or were not in accordance with the scientific-technical advances of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the country and the difficulties encountered in their professional performance. To collect this information, a survey designed by a group of professors from the department of Biochemistry of the Faculty of Biology of the University of Havana was used as an instrument. that was endorsed by experts in this area. The surveys of a population sample of 106 university graduates who worked in the field of biochemistry from 1964 to 2021 were processed. The results obtained showed that the graduates had a good postgraduate development and professional performance regardless of the study plan completed. Most of the respondents (96 %) expressed personal satisfaction with their professional work in the field of biochemistry and if they were again in the position to choose a career, or modify their profile, they would select biochemistry again.
