Abstract (English): Objective: This literary review evaluates and identifies measurable indicators and various tools to provide safety and quality care in diagnostic imaging. In that order, it was an exhaustive bibliographic study of an exploratory, documentary type, because the data was obtained through direct sources based on a sample of 58 scientific articles in different journals such as Pubmed, Google academic, Ebscohost, Scopus, Elsiever, Springer Open, IOP Science: its fundamental purpose being the determination of patient safety in radiology. Result: The error in a radiological image, its reading, or an overexposure, those in which the wrong patient or the wrong area is irradiated, is not a planned action or the use of an incorrect plan to achieve an objective. From this perspective, modern radiation safety warns against overemphasis on error classification and quantitative measurement in creating safety in a complex environment. Conclusion: Patient safety and quality in diagnostic imaging can be improved by recognizing that adverse events occur, learning from them, and working to prevent them. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): Objetivo. La presente revisión literaria evalúa e identifica indicadores medibles y diversas herramientas para impartir una atención de seguridad y calidad en diagnóstico por imagen. En ese orden, fue un estudio bibliográfico exhaustivo de tipo exploratoria, documental, debido a que los datos se obtuvieron mediante fuentes directas basado en una muestra de 58 artículos científicos en diferentes revistas como Pubmed, Google academico, Ebscohost, Scopus, Elsiever, Springer Open, IOP Science: siendo su fin fundamental, la determinación de la seguridad del paciente en radiología. Resultado. El error en una imagen radiológica, su lectura, o una sobreexposición, aquellos en los que se irradia al paciente incorrecto o a la zona equivocada, no es una acción planificada ni el uso de un plan incorrecto para lograr un objetivo. Desde esta perspectiva, la seguridad radiológica moderna advierte contra el énfasis excesivo en la clasificación de errores y la medición cuantitativa en la creación de seguridad en un entorno complejo. Conclusión. La seguridad y calidad en diagnóstico por imagen del paciente puede mejorarse reconociendo que ocurren incidentes y eventos adversos, aprendiendo de ellos y trabajando para prevenirlos.
