The Regional Seminar on Social Development, "Social Protection and Inequality: Latin America and the Caribbean", organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), took place from June 25 to 27, 2024 in Santiago, Chile. The objective was to analyze social inequality in the region and strengthen the design of public policies for inclusive social development, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Topics such as productive structure, income distribution, gender inequality, and the importance of addressing inequality for economic growth and sustainable development were addressed. El Seminario Regional de Desarrollo Social, "Protección social y Desigualdad: América Latina y El Caribe", organizado por la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), se llevó a cabo del 25 al 27 de junio de 2024 en Santiago, Chile. El objetivo fue analizar la desigualdad social en la región y fortalecer el diseño de políticas públicas para un desarrollo social inclusivo, en línea con la Agenda 2030 de Desarrollo Sostenible. Se abordaron temas como la estructura productiva, la distribución de ingresos, la desigualdad de género y la importancia de enfrentar la desigualdad para el crecimiento económico y el desarrollo sostenible.
