Abstract (English): Adolescence is characterized as a phase of various physical and psychological changes, which can lead to some risky behaviors such as the use of illicit drugs. This consumption is introduced into the routine of young people, causing various harm to their general and oral health. Dentistry, in turn, plays an important role in preventing and promoting the health of these adolescents, being able to detect oral manifestations related to drug use, treat these manifestations, as well as raise awareness through guidance and counseling. The present work aims to describe the dental care and treatment of an adolescent drug user. The treatment carried out consisted of basic periodontal treatment, removal of existing cavities, restorations, counseling and follow-up. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Portuguese): A adolescência é caracterizada como uma fase de diversas mudanças físicas e psicológicas, podendo ocasionar alguns comportamentos de risco como o uso de drogas ilícitas. Esse consumo é introduzido na rotina dos jovens provocando diversos malefícios a saúde geral e bucal. A odontologia, por sua vez, tem papel importante na prevenção e promoção de saúde desses adolescentes, podendo realizar a detecção das manifestações orais correlacionadas ao uso de drogas, o tratamento dessas manifestações, assim como realizar a conscientização através de orientações e aconselhamento. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo descrever o atendimento e tratamento odontológico de um adolescente usuário de drogas. O tratamento realizado se deu através do tratamento periodontal básico, remoção de cáries existentes, restaurações, aconselhamento e proservação. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
