Abstract (English): The aim of this article is to show what kind of information is contained in the main literary sources available about Jan Mikolášek, one of the most famous herbalists of Czechoslovakia, and to propose a grounded theory about his criminal investigation. Methodologically, the text is based on a systematic review of three types of sources about his person, i.e. the protocols of the investigation organized by the State Security, Mikolášek's memoirs, and his biography. The content analysis of these sources was carried out in Atlas. ti. In this way it was found out that the protocols in most cases contain information about the personal characteristics of the healer, Mikolášek's memoirs mostly deal with his work and his biography with the criminal proceedings. In future research it would be desirable to analyze Mikolášek Jan's collections in the archives of the Czech National Museum. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
