Abstract (English):	The Technical Council of the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) is the collegiate body responsible for analyzing and resolving academicadministrative matters. It originated from the Organic Law of the UNAM of 1945, which established this structure across all university entities. The Faculty of Medicine had experience with collegiate bodies since the Establecimiento de Ciencias Médicas, when the first such body, the Board of Professors, operated from 1833 until the 1920s, already under the Escuela Nacional de Medicina. Later, the Mixed Academy of Professors and Students was established, operating until 1945, when it was replaced by the Technical Council. Over more than a century, collegial participation experienced ups and downs, periods of questioning, as well as reorganizations and consolidation, such as during the 1867 restructuring by the Ministerio de Instrucción Pública, which subjected the Boards of Professors of the national schools to its regulations and established them as a link between educational institutions and the government. This text reveals these processes and offers a glimpse into the complexity of decision-making and the drive toward institutionalization, even in challenging political contexts, such as the movement for university autonomy--a process that the University faced and that ultimately transformed it, providing the guidelines and structure it maintains to this day. This study on the processes that preceded the creation of the Technical Council of the Escuela Nacional de Medicina is based mainly on its predecessor organizations--the Board of Professors and the Mixed Academy of Professors and Students-- thanks to the documents they generated, which are preserved in the Archivo Histórico de la Facultad de Medicina (AHFM). Abstract (Spanish):	El Consejo Técnico de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) es el órgano colegiado encargado de analizar y resolver asuntos académico- administrativos. Se originó a partir de la Ley Orgánica de la UNAM de 1945, que estableció dicha estructura en todas las entidades universitarias. La Facultad de Medicina tenía experiencia con órganos colegiados desde el Establecimiento de Ciencias Médicas, cuando el primero de ellos se denominó Junta de Profesores o Catedráticos, el cual funcionó de 1833 hasta la década de 1920, ya en la Escuela Nacional de Medicina. Posteriormente, se constituyó la Academia Mixta de Profesores y Alumnos, que operó hasta 1945, cuando fue sustituida por el Consejo Técnico. A lo largo de más de un siglo, la participación colegiada tuvo altibajos, épocas de cuestionamientos, así como de reordenamientos y consolidación, como sucedió durante la reestructuración de 1867, cuando el Ministerio de Instrucción Pública sujetó a sus disposiciones a las Juntas de Catedráticos de las escuelas nacionales y las estableció como vínculo entre las instituciones educativas y el gobierno. El presente texto devela esos procesos y permite asomarse a la complejidad de la toma de decisiones y al impulso hacia la institucionalización, aun en contextos políticos complicados, tal como ocurrió durante el movimiento por la autonomía universitaria, proceso que enfrentó y transformó a la Universidad para darle los lineamientos y la estructura que mantiene hasta hoy. Este estudio acerca de los procesos que antecedieron a la creación del Consejo Técnico de la Escuela Nacional de Medicina se fundamenta principalmente en los organismos precedentes --la Junta de Profesores Catedráticos y la Academia Mixta de Profesores y Alumnos--, gracias a los documentos generados por dichas instancias, preservados en el Archivo Histórico de la Facultad de Medicina (AHFM).
