Abstract (English): Introduction: Therapeutic education in atopic dermatitis is one of the pillars of comprehensive treatment for the disease, both in patients and their caregivers when managing minors. This work aims to describe the knowledge, attitudes and practices of caregivers of children with atopic dermatitis in a pediatric hospital in Cali, Colombia. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive, observational study with an analytical scope was carried out. Results: A survey was administered to 107 caregivers, with a predominance of female participants (90.7%) and a median age of 34 years (IR: 29-41 years). It was found that 81.3% recognized that it is an inflammatory disease with allergic components. The majority (56.07%) first learned about atopic dermatitis from a dermatology specialist; 95.33% first consulted a medical professional, and 74.77% fully followed the treating physician’s recommendations. Additionally, 85.98% had not previously participated in any therapeutic education intervention for atopic dermatitis. In the bivariate analysis, sex, educational level, and socioeconomic stratum showed statistically significant results (p<0.05) regarding differences in the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of caregivers. Conclusions: There are characteristics of caregivers that may be related to specific types of knowledge, attitudes, and practices in managing of children with atopic dermatitis. This study may contribute to the development of interventions in therapeutic education, which is crucial for improving the comprehensive treatment of the disease. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
