| Abstract (English): |
Bariatric and metabolic surgery has undergone significant advances and development over the years, especially in its metabolic aspect. Based on this, we conducted a search and review of what were the initial reports and important milestones that laid the foundations and the path to what we know today. Through a chronological narration of events, we proposed as an objective the analysis from the origin, to understand where we have arrived and where we seem to be going. All this in the context of the fact that we are about to celebrate the 100th anniversary of what could be considered the first scientific report on metabolic surgery. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
| Abstract (Spanish): |
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
