Abstract (English): Peripheral facial palsy is a mononeuropathy that leads to a decrease or complete loss of nerve conduction to the facial muscles. Currently, various physiotherapeutic modalities are described; however, the evidence supporting their effectiveness remains unclear. Therefore, the purpose of this case series was to describe the changes in facial function following the application of a proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) protocol. This case series was conducted with six patients with acute peripheral facial paralysis. Therapeutic goals were established in three stages according to facial function. The Sunnybrook scale and a quantitative evaluation were used to assess mobility, facial symmetry, and the presence of synkinesis. The proposed intervention reported positive changes in the recovery of facial function, with observed reductions in resting asymmetry, increased mobility, and decreased synkinesis. Abstract (Spanish): La parálisis facial periférica es la mononeuropatía que conduce a la disminución o pérdida total de la conducción nerviosa a los músculos faciales. Actualmente se describen diversas modalidades fisioterapéuticas, sin embargo la evidencia que respalda su eficacia es poco clara, por lo que el propósito de esta serie de casos fue describir los cambios en la función facial posterior a la aplicación de un protocolo de facilitación neuromuscular propioceptiva. Esta serie de casos se realizó con seis pacientes con parálisis facial periférica aguda. Los objetivos terapéuticos se propusieron en tres etapas según la función facial. Se utilizó la escala de Sunnybrook y una evaluación cuantitativa para evaluar movilidad, simetría facial y la presencia de sincinesias. La intervención propuesta reportó cambios positivos en la recuperación de la función facial, observándose disminución de asimetría en reposo, aumento de la movilidad y disminución de sincinesias.
