Abstract (English): Objective. To provide a detailed description of the methodological, sampling, operational, and analytical design of National Survey on Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Consumption 2025 (Encodat 2025), offering the necessary framework to interpret its results and enhance its relevance for public health decision-making. Materials and methods. A probabilistic, multistage, stratified, and clustered sampling design will be used. A total of 23 950 households will be visited, with interviews planned for 3 960 adolescents and 13 631 adults. Data collection will be conducted using electronic devices and structured questionnaires. Statistical analyses will account for the complex survey design. Results. The survey will generate estimates on the prevalence of tobacco, alcohol, nonprescribed medical drugs, and illicit drug use; age of initiation; risk patterns; perceived harm; and dependency criteria. It will also provide data on psychological distress, gambling disorder, and internet gaming disorder. These data will enable the characterization of epidemiological profiles in the population and the identification of potential trends. Conclusions. Encodat 2025 is a strategic tool for epidemiological surveillance and the development of evidence-based public health interventions. Its historical continuity, methodological rigor, and broad population coverage establish it as a key instrument to guide the national response to substance use. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): Objetivo.
