Estos protocolos, elaborados por la Secretaría de Salud (SSa) en colaboración con expertos de diversas instituciones, buscan proporcionar atención médica equitativa y estandarizada en todo el país, sin importar la afiliación a un sistema de salud. Hasta diciembre de 2025, se han desarrollado siete PRONAM, que abordan problemas de salud significativos como la diabetes, la hipertensión y el sobrepeso, y están diseñados para ser aplicados principalmente en el primer nivel de atención.
