| Abstract (English): |
Introduction: patellar fractures represent a clinical challenge due to the need to restore knee function by minimizing surgical trauma through the minimally invasive fixation technique (MIS) being an alternative seeking to improve clinical and functional results without so much aggression to the tissues. Material and methods: a retrospective study was conducted of patients with displaced patella fractures treated with the MIS technique between January 2015 and December 2020, evaluated over a five-year period using scales of pain, range of motion and functionality. Results: the patients analyzed were 20 who showed a rapid and sustained recovery, with mean EVA scores of 0.2 and IKS of 95 (average) at the end of the follow-up. No complications such as infections or failure of the fixing material were reported. Conclusions: the MIS technique for patella fractures offers numerous benefits, including less trauma to tissues and rapid functional recovery. This study demonstrates a superior alternative to traditional methods of open fixation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
