| Abstract (English): | Introduction: Digital ischemia is the most common arterial condition of the upper limbs in athletes. It clinically presents as cooling, pallor, and pain in the fingers--mainly the index and middle--associated with inflammation, repetitive impacts, or closed trauma. Early detection of this condition is essential to prevent thromboembolic events, functional deterioration, and irreversible tissue necrosis. Objective: The main objective is to establish prevalence according to sports discipline, explore the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms, and describe current diagnostic methods and therapeutic strategies. This is particularly relevant given the increasing number of individuals participating in both recreational and competitive sports, which raises the risk of vascular pathologies in the hand. Methods: This narrative literature review was conducted through a systematic search in PubMed. Results: A total of 12 relevant articles were identified. Additional references were incorporated through cross-referencing and a snowball strategy to ensure broad bibliographic coverage. Conclusion: Vascular injuries in athletes, although uncommon, should be suspected in cases of persistent pain or signs of digital ischemia. Early detection and timely management are essential for a rapid return to sport. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
