Abstract (English): This article examines the notion of the "good author" within systems of scientific evaluation, defining it through observable practices: the relevance of research questions, methodological adequacy, and transparency throughout the manuscript-writing process. It emphasizes accountability in collaboration, properly justified authorship--free of honorary practices--and editorial and regulatory integrity. In addition, by analogy with journal indexing, it proposes an "index of responsible authorship" grounded in verifiable indicators and multidimensional profiles, rather than in prestige or impact. It concludes by underscoring the tension between authorship as social accountability and authorship as evaluative performance, arguing that the central challenge is cultural and institutional. Abstract (Spanish): Este artículo analiza la noción de "buen autor" en la evaluación científica, definiéndola mediante prácticas observables: pertinencia de preguntas, adecuación metodológica y transparencia en el proceso de redacción de un manuscrito. Se destaca la responsabilidad en la colaboración, autorías justificadas, sin prácticas honorarias y la integridad editorial y normativa. Asimismo, se propone, por analogía con la indización de revistas, un "índice de autoría responsable" basado en indicadores verificables y perfiles por dimensiones, no en prestigio o impacto. Concluye subrayando la tensión entre autoría como rendición de cuentas social y autoría como rendimiento evaluativo, y se plantea que el reto principal es cultural e institucional.
