| Abstract (English): |
The article focuses on the importance of research seedbeds as key spaces for early scientific literacy in medical education. These seedbeds are formative environments that allow students to develop fundamental research skills, as well as transversal competencies such as teamwork and ethics. In countries like Colombia and Chile, seedbeds are institutionalized and show positive impacts on student training and scientific production, although structural and financial barriers persist in Bolivia. It is proposed to integrate seedbeds into the curriculum with teaching support and institutional resources, recognizing students as active agents in the generation of knowledge with social relevance. El artículo se centra en la importancia de los semilleros de investigación como espacios clave para la alfabetización científica temprana en la educación médica. Estos semilleros son entornos formativos que permiten a los estudiantes desarrollar habilidades investigativas fundamentales, además de competencias transversales como el trabajo en equipo y la ética. En países como Colombia y Chile, los semilleros están institucionalizados y muestran impactos positivos en la formación y producción científica estudiantil, aunque en Bolivia persisten barreras estructurales y financieras. Se propone integrar los semilleros en la currícula con apoyo docente y recursos institucionales, reconociendo al estudiantado como agente activo en la generación de conocimiento con relevancia social.
