Additionally, it underscores the need to integrate this knowledge with traditional clinical practice and empathetic care for the patient and their family. Finally, it raises the urgency of updating medical training and strengthening interdisciplinary communication to face the ethical and scientific challenges that these diseases represent. El artículo aborda los desafíos actuales en la neurología clínica para el diagnóstico de las enfermedades neurodegenerativas, destacando el impacto de los avances en biología molecular, genética y ciencias ómicas. Se enfatiza la importancia de comprender los mecanismos moleculares, como la agregación proteica y las mutaciones genéticas, que subyacen a estas enfermedades, conocidas también como proteinopatías. Además, se resalta la necesidad de integrar estos conocimientos con la práctica clínica tradicional y la atención empática al paciente y su familia. Finalmente, se plantea la urgencia de actualizar la formación médica y fortalecer la comunicación interdisciplinaria para enfrentar los retos éticos y científicos que estas enfermedades representan.
