| Abstract (English): |
The article focuses on the ethical analysis of denying medical care in urgent cases, specifically when a doctor faces a dilemma between demanding timely payment of fees and attending to a patient at risk of death. It highlights that, due to the vital nature of medical work, the right to life and timely care of the patient prevails over the professional’s economic claims. The text emphasizes that abandoning a patient in a critical condition violates fundamental bioethical principles such as beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice, and that doctors should seek alternative ways to defend their rights without endangering the health or life of others. Finally, it stresses the ethical commitment of the physician to prioritize the patient’s well-being, even in the face of labor conflicts. [Extracted from the article] |
| Abstract (Spanish): |
[Extracted from the article] |
