| Abstract (Spanish): | El artículo se centra en el análisis ético de la negación de atención médica en casos urgentes, específicamente cuando un médico enfrenta un dilema entre reclamar el pago oportuno de honorarios y atender a un paciente en riesgo de muerte. Se destaca que, debido a la naturaleza vital de la labor médica, el derecho a la vida y a la atención oportuna del paciente prevalece sobre los reclamos económicos del profesional. El texto subraya que abandonar a un paciente en situación crítica vulnera principios bioéticos fundamentales como la beneficencia, no maleficencia y justicia, y que los médicos deben buscar vías alternativas para defender sus derechos sin poner en peligro la salud o vida de terceros.
