Abstract (English): Introduction. The ease of access to Digital Devices (DD) by young people in Mexico has led them to become part of a multicultural digital community, full of distractions, including social media (SM) and both positive and negative influences. Researchers have a variety of opinions and findings on the subject, ranging from those who believe devices should not be part of young people's education due to their distracting potential and the potential health impacts they can have, to those who point to these devices as an opportunity to enrich learning and encourage self-education. Objective. To determine whether there is an association between the use of DDs, screen time (ST), the use of SS, and academic performance in students enrolled in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery program at a public university in Mexico. Abstract (Spanish): Introducción. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
