Abstract (English): Diseases have three dimensions: biological, psychological, and social, and epilepsy is no exception. Biological study, diagnosis, and treatment of epilepsy are as important as the psychological and social repercussions of this condition and its treatment, which must be considered for the full personal development and social integration of people with epilepsy. Therefore, guidelines should be established in the social sphere to advise and guide those who live with people with epilepsy in making decisions about education, work, driving, sports activities, and food and beverage consumption. Based on the most frequent concerns expressed by patients and relatives regarding these topics, this guide attempts to answer these questions with existing scientific evidence to achieve a greater understanding of the social aspects of epilepsy and how to act in social situations.
