| Abstract (English): | Objective: Reporting guidelines or checklists for scientific articles are essential tools for ensuring the appropriate presentation of manuscripts and help prevent omissions in manuscript structure. The aim of this manuscript was to describe the most frequently used checklists for communicating results in biomedical journals, according to the type of research design used. Conclusion: Before drafting a manuscript, authors should use a checklist appropriate to the methodological design of the study, as this facilitates its preparation, evaluation, and comprehension by the scientific community. | Abstract (Spanish): | Objetivo: Las listas de verificación (LV) o checklists para artículos científicos son herramientas esenciales para asegurar la correcta presentación de los manuscritos y ayudan a evitar omisiones en la estructura. El objetivo de este manuscrito fue describir las LV de uso más frecuente para la comunicación de resultados en revistas biomédicas, según tipo de diseño de investigación utilizado. Conclusión: Antes de redactar un manuscrito, los autores debieran utilizar una LV acorde al diseño metodológico del estudio, pues ello facilita su preparación, evaluación y comprensión por parte de la comunidad científica.
