Abstract (English): In this article, a short summary of the historical evolution of the Caribbean psychological science is made: from its background in the 19th century in the Varela Philosophy catedra at the San Carlos and San Ambrosio seminary (maternal cloister of science, conscience, ethics and culture), its further development at the Law, Education, and Philosopy and Letters faculties of Havana University , as well as at the psychology schools at the private catholic Villanueva and José Marti Mason's universities during the first five decades of the 20th century until its full insertion in the scientific, academic and social life of the biggest Antillean island after the triumph of the revolution. Abstract (Spanish): En este artículo, se hace una apretada síntesis de la evolución histórica de la ciencia psicológica caribeña: desde sus antecedentes, en el siglo XIX, en la cátedra vareliana de Filosofía en el Seminario de San Carlos y San Ambrosio (claustro materno de ciencia, conciencia, ética y cultura), su desarrollo ulterior en las facultades de Derecho, Educación y Fibosofía y Letras de la Universidad de La Habana, así como en las escuelas de Psicología de las universidades privadas Católica de Villanueva y Masónica "José Martí" durante las primeras cinco décadas del siglo XX, hasta su plena inserción en la vida científica, académica y social de la mayor de las Antillas, luego del triunfo revolucionario.
