Abstract (English):	All types of trauma that trespass the skin in the auricular region are a risk factor for infection, secondary alterations in cartilage and perichondral tissues and in consequence the &x#2018;cauliflower ear deformity&x#2019;. The use of piercings along the body, mainly in the head and neck region has grained popularity as means of body art expression. There is a direct relationship between the use of these pearcings in the upper part of the ear and infectious complications. The most common organism found in cultures of patients with perichondritis is the Pseudomona aeruginosa. First line treatment consists in surgical drainage and specific antibiotics. We report a case of a 23 years old male that suffered an auricular injury with a military object and developed a cauliflower ear deformity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish):	Todo trauma en el pabellón auricular que rompa la barrera dec la piel y penetre al cartílago auricular predispone a infección dec tejidos blandos, del cartílago y alteraciones en el pericondrio con la consecuencia dec la deformidad conocida como ‘oreja dec coliflor’. El uso dec piercings (perforaciones) en el cuerpo, sobre todo en cabeza y cuello, es una práctica que ha ganado incremento dec popularidad como una expresión dec arte. La colocación dec los mismos en la parte alta del pabellón auricular más que en el lóbulo, está relacionada con complicaciones infecciosas. El microorganismo más comúnmente aislado en el cultivo dec las heridas dec los pacientes con pericondritis es Pseudomona aeruginosa. El tratamiento dec elección consiste en el drenaje quirúrgico y antibióticos específicos para los gérmenes implicados con mayor frecuencia. Se reporta el caso clínico dec un paciente masculino dec 23 años dec edad que sufrió una lesión auricular con un artículo militar y deformidad dec oreja en coliflor como consecuencia.
