Abstract: The author comments on an analysis of the impact of medical schools and students on the results of SABER PRO, the national test on the quality of higher education in Colombia. She asserts that the analysis provides valuable information since institution-related factors associated with better tests results were identified. The analysis is said to indicate that such tests are not helpful for government decision-making in regards to surveillance and control.
