| Abstract: |
The article reports that efforts to establish Muslim cemeteries in Dudley, Massachusetts was met with public opposition. Topics discussed include the aim of a local mosque to establish a resting place for some 500 Muslim families using an idle dairy farm in the location and the concern raised by residents that Islamic burial practices could contaminate groundwater as well as possible vandalism. The ongoing mistrust between Christian and Muslim groups is then mentioned. |
