The article reports that Jacob Alexander, former chief executive of Comverse Technology, is planning to settle with his family in Namibia to avoid charges of fraud relating to backdating stock options. Alexander has bought into Namibian business, purchased a house, and put his children in school. He was arrested in that country on the U. S. charges, but released on bail. He will likely be able to live in Namibia for many years, as the extradition and appeals process drags on. |
