| Abstract: | Not home-based: The Highlanders don't have a lot of real, homegown talent in their squad in this year's Super 12. Just two--Byron Kelleher and Tom Willis--were born in Dunedin, and five others within the Highlanders' region. Fiji and Australia have two each in the Highlanders, South Africa one, and Auckland (4) and Hawke's Bay (3) lead the southerners' collection inside New Zealand. The Aussies are centre Ryan Nicholas and flanker Sam Harding, although Harding was barely one when he left Perth. |
