Abstract: * LET'S hear it for the boys! In a world awash with Footballers Gone Wild and an abundance of androgynous hipster fashion it must be difficult for the XYers of Melbourne to try to find their own voice. Granting young guns a chance to mix it up (in the change rooms at least) is Nikki Cremasco, who opened her Hawthorn boutique Lion in Love on Monday night for a boy's night party. Downing Burger Rings, wasabi peas, mixed sweets and Stella, the crowd - including author Stuart Forsyth, filmmaker Dani Raulli and musician Jungfrau - perused the latest in men's fashion from young Japanese and Korean designers. Why men's fashion? "It's a refreshing change from women's fashion, plus growing up with three brothers I know that Melbourne is screaming out for some more interesting men's wear to give guys a chance to be more individual." How does she tell the pretenders from those who know their style? "Well-styled guys are effortless and aren't posers. They dress a bit left of centre and it's all in the name of creativity, not just to be 'cool' or look good."
