| Abstract: | Strike action that will shut down Melbourne's train and tram networks for four hours on Friday is looking increasingly likely after another day of negotiations between transport operators and the Rail Tram and Bus Union ended without a breakthrough. Metro, Yarra Trams and the union remain in dispute over the terms of two separate three-year enterprise bargaining agreements, with the union fighting for an 18 per cent pay rise over three years for members at both companies, which have offered increases of between 9 and 10 per cent. |
