| Description: | The book comprehensively presents the phenomenon of Renaissance and Mannerist stucco in Bohemia and Moravia. The historical monuments that can be included in this group were created approximately bewteen 1550 and 1620. A detailed topographical research has mapped the relevant stuccoes preserved on the territory of the Czech Republic, due to legislative restrictions. However, the individual chapters are not limited to this territory. Central European and Italian analogies are outlined both in the introductory synthesizing section as well as in the chapters of the selective catalogue, whch are conceived as autonomous essays presenting the most important sites. The extensive publication has a strong base in the field of conservation and will be appreciated by professionals (inluding foreign scholars), but – thanks to extensive pictorial accompaniment and exclusive graphic design – also by the general public. |
