The article discusses the interconnection between language and war. It notes that language is viewed as a set of values and beliefs that people wish to communicate and emphasize with the goal of encouraging or inculcating their views to other people, while war is the political division of values and beliefs that divides the people, accentuates that division, creates hatred and fosters fear. According to the author, the way people use language influences their beliefs and values, their emotions and their actions. She then asserts that when language is corrupted it can lead to corrupted thinking and distorted politics. |
