The article examines issues within the child welfare and juvenile justice systems and proposes policy changes for addressing sex trafficking of African American youth using a dual system theoretical framework. Topics discussed include African American crossover youth, domestic minor sex trafficking, the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act, trauma-informed treatment, mentoring program and proactive prevention approaches. |
