The author, Hannah Frydman, frames this with their own research with Gallica, the Bibliothèque nationale de France digital library, on the history of queer sexuality and culture. Insights from other historians on search, including Tim Hitchcock, Lara Putnam and Dominick LaCapra, are presented.
