| Abstract: | This study evaluated the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Artificial Intelligence Anxiety Scale (AIAS) among Iranian college students, with a focus on gender differences. Additionally, it examined the mediating role of career adaptability in the relationship between proactive personality and AIAS. A sample of 317 participants completed the AIAS, Career Adaptabilities Scale, and Proactive Personality Scale. Results confirmed a four-factor second-order structure for the AIAS, consistent across genders. Divergent validity was supported by significant negative correlations between AIAS scores and career adaptability (r = −.37, p <.001) and proactive personality (r = −.33, p <.001). Convergent validity was demonstrated by average variance extracted values (total score: 0.66) and subdimensions, along with strong internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.95; composite reliability: 0.97). The findings further highlighted the mediating effect of career adaptability in the relationship between proactive personality and AIAS, offering valuable insights for future research.
