| Abstract: |
The article examines what has become a fight over what to name the roughly 600-mile-long extension of the Indian Ocean that lies between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula. It discusses ideas that should be kept in mind about the views of governments, organizations, and private individuals on what some have labeled "the Persian Gulf naming dispute." Also offered are the declaration by U.S. President Donald Trump on February 9, 2025 as the first Gulf of America Day and some historical background. |
