| Abstract (English): |
The aim of this instrumental study was to design and validate the psychometric properties of a questionnaire for evaluating university teaching quality. A total of 378 students were assessed through non-probabilistic convenience sampling from 25 undergraduate programs across three campuses of a public university in Mexico. Participants completed the University Teaching Quality Inventory, which comprises four dimensions—teacher planning, in-class teaching performance, attention to students, and assessment of learning outcomes—as well as an overall evaluation index. The instrument includes 16 items rated on a ten-point Likert-type scale (1 = strongly disagree, 10 = strongly agree). A structural model of university teaching performance was tested using confirmatory factor analysis through structural equation modeling, in which the observed variable of overall teaching evaluation received a direct and positive effect from the second-order latent variable of university teaching performance. El objetivo de este estudio instrumental fue diseñar y validar las propiedades psicométricas de un cuestionario de evaluación de la docencia universitaria. Se evaluaron 378 estudiantes seleccionados mediante un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia, provenientes de 25 licenciaturas de tres campus de una universidad pública mexicana. Los participantes respondieron el Inventario de la Calidad de la Docencia Universitaria (ICDUSON), compuesto por cuatro dimensiones: planificación del profesor, desempeño del profesor en clase, atención a estudiantes y evaluación de los aprendizajes, y un índice de evaluación global con 16 preguntas en escala tipo Likert de diez opciones (1 = total desacuerdo, 10 = total acuerdo). Se probó un modelo estructural de Desempeño Docente Universitario, a través de un Análisis Factorial Confirmatorio (AFC) por Modelamiento de Ecuaciones Estructurales (MEE), donde la variable manifiesta evaluación global del docente recibe un efecto directo y positivo de la variable latente de segundo orden desempeño docente universitario.
