Abstract:	The article focuses on research on rheumatoid arthritis which was done in an effort to assess the therapeutic effects of blocking interleukin 6 with the inhibition of the interleukin 6 receptor with tocilizumab in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Researchers used a double blind, randomised, placebo controlled study which looked at 623 arthritis patients. They found that patients receiving tocilizumab had improvement in swollen and tender joints. They concluded that tocilizumab could be an effective therapeutic approach in patients with moderate to severe arthritis.
