| Abstract: |
The article discusses a study which investigated the effect of para-aortic lymphadenectomy on patients at intermediate and high risk of recurrence of endometrial cancer. The retrospective cohort analysis involved 671 patients with endometrial carcinoma, who received systematic pelvic lymphadenectomy or combined pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy in Japan. The researchers have found that para-aortic lymphadenectomy increased survival rates in patients at intermediate or high risk or recurrence. |
